How to Find The Crossings
|
The Crossings is located in West Virginia's Eastern
Panhandle, northwest of Winchester, Virginia and approximately 2 hours drive
from Washington, DC and Baltimore, Maryland.

Driving Directions
From Northern Virginia:
 | Take the Dulles Toll Road (Route 267) West |
 | Past Dulles Airport, stay on Route 267 where it turns into the Dulles
Greenway |
 | Stay on the Greenway about 15 miles until it ends in Leesburg and take
Route 7 West (left hand exit) |
 | Take Route 7 West approximately 35 miles to I-81 North |
 | Follow directions from I-81 North |
From Washington, DC:
 | Take US 66 West to US 17 North (exit 23) |
 | Take US 17 North approximately 8 miles to US 50 West (Warning: 45 mph
speed limit on this stretch is enforced very aggressively!) |
 | US 50 West approximately 15 miles to I-81 North |
 | Follow directions from I-81 North |
From Baltimore, MD and other Maryland locations:
 | Take I-70 or I-270 west to Frederick, MD |
 | In Frederick, pick up US 340 South (towards Charles Town, WV) |
 | Continue on US 340 south through Harper's Ferry and Charles Town |
 | Pay attention to road signs through Charles Town as you will need to make
a right hand exit to pick up the 340 bypass |
 | Continue into Virginia and pickup Route 7 West (towards Winchester, VA) |
 | Take Route 7 West approximately 10 miles to I-81 North |
 | Follow directions from I-81 North |
From I-81 North
 | North on I-81 to exit 317 (from Route 50, it's the second exit, from Route
7, it's the first exit) |
 | Left off of exit 317, follow signs for Route 37 south and "To US
522"
About 2 miles, exit onto US 522 north |
 | Approx. 10 miles north of Winchester, left on to Route 127 (turnoff is
about 1.5 miles past the Shawnee Springs Market, it's on a curve and tends
to sneak up on you) |
 | Go approximately 10 miles and turn right on to Gaston Road |
 | Follow Gaston Road for 1-2 miles where it ends at Route 29 |
 | Turn right to take Route 29 North |
 | Take Route 29 approximately 2 miles into the unincorporated town of Pin
Oak, where you'll see a sign for "Public Stream Access" and Cabin
Run Road |
 | Turn right onto Cabin Run Road (gravel road, very sharp turn, almost a
u-turn) |
 | Take Cabin Run Road approx. 1-2 miles until it ends at a "T",
turn left |
 | Stay on that road another 1-2 miles until it ends at a big white barn (has
a sign that says Capon View Farm) |
 | Turn right to the red security gate that marks the entrance to the
Crossings |
